The builders in Andhra Pradesh will henceforth have to procure license from the municipal authorities before they can take up any project.
This has been mooted by Baldia after they received several complaints form people. It is quite common for the builders to promise something and then go back.
The move to make license compulsory for builders is likely to go a long way in easing the problems of the purchasers.
The builders can no longer get away when they do not comply with the building laws and provisions.
They will be mad accountable. It is quite common for builders now t take approval for construction only to change everything when they actually build the apartment. All this is likely to lead to an improvement in the quality of construction in the state.

The song shows Nagarjuna kissing Anushka almost everywhere, forehead, cheeks, chin, hands fingers, navel and finally, even on the lips. There are a couple of occasions when Anushka and Nagarjuna kiss lip-to-lip. But the director shows it as a dream by Anushka, obviously to get past the censors.

Hilton did not look happy as her $2,00,000 convertible was being towed away. Her publicist Elliot Mintz said that Hilton had failed to notice that her headlights weren't on because the parking was brightly lit.
2007/9/21 19:30:03 The public auction of residential plots, commercial plots and residential housing projects me with a very lukewarm response. The lack of interest among the people as well as builder has come as a big surprise to HUDA. The plots did not fetch even 50% of the targeted amount. The scene was quite different last year when builders outbid each another and the prices went over the roof. Now even in prime locations, the prices did not reach the current market value, but even then it did not get buyers
2007/11/27 9:53:24 This will come as sweet news to all builders who have built commercial complexes and apartments in complete violation of the building rules. The state government is seriously contemplating to come up with a scheme that will allow violators to regularize their buildings by paying a compounding fee.
The TDP government had introduced such a scheme five years ago. It was a one-time offer and many people benefited by regularizing their buildings. The state government will come up with the norms for regularization shortly. The government hopes to raise at least 1,000 crore as compounding fee by way of regularization of unauthorized and unapproved constructions.
The chief minister said that the government will make it mandatory for the bride and the groom to undergo HIV test before marriage. The CM was speaking at a function as part of AIDS awareness programme.
He said that it was cruel for one partner to pass on the disease to another after marriage. The HIV test will go a long way in curbing the spread of AIDS he opined.
2007/12/13 14:52:40 After consumer durables, it is now the turn of flats and houses to come with a warranty. This novel scheme is being implemented in Hyderabad for the first time. Big builders and corporate real estate players are offering this scheme as a free add-on to the buyers.
The earlier practice was that once a flat or house was registered, the builder simply washed his hands off and d walked away. But now, they are offering free maintenance of the flats for periods ranging from two to five years. The builder will take care of all maintenance works like sanitary, electrical and cracks in the walls during the warranty period.
Satyam group is groping in the dark literally. The group has constructed a landmark corporate office at Visakhapatnam. Howev4 even after about six months the Transo officials refuse to give regular power connection to the office.
They cite the new rule which mandates the submission of occupancy certificate. Many builders in Visakhapatnam are facing problems over this. They have now decided to approach the CM and submit a memorandum over this.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation which came into existence from today has unveiled a new plan which will come as a boon to small house builders. A new Tatkal scheme has been announced by the corporation according to which building permission would be granted within 48 hours. The condition is that the new rule would apply to only constructions of G+1.
The construction would have to be made as per permission and any deviations would be dealt with severely. The project was unveiled last month in LB Nagar municipality and it was a big success and based on the experience it is now being implemented across other municipalities in a phased manner.
The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) is speeding up the process of constructing an NRI township and hotel zone. HUDA has asked for expression of interest by interested builders.
The tender process would commence from April HUDA proposes to construct a township exclusively for NRIs on a 200 acre site at Budvel near Hyderabad. A hotel zone will also come up on a 120 acre site near the Shamshabad International Airport.
2007/11/22 11:25:48 The regional transport authority will organize a digital meter mela at parade grounds in Secunderabad. The RTS is organising the meal in association with the manufactures of digital meters. Auto drivers interested in fixing digital meters have to register their names at the local RTA offices. The digital meters are priced between 1500 and 1700.
The government is firm in it decision to make digital meters compulsory from January 1, 2008. Autio’s without digital meters will be fined 500 rupees and the fine will go up to 1000 and 1500 for the second and third time. After that, the autos would be seized. Some union leaders want the government to raise the minimum fare from the present 10 rupees to 14 rupees to go digital.
There is a lull in the real estate market in the state. The activity in both commercial as well as residential property has slowed down to a large extent. The real estate agents who inflated prices and created an artificial boom are at the receiving end now with hardly any takers for lands.
The land prices which soared to record and abnormal levels have now turned downwards. So much so that n acre on the Nagarjunasagar and Vijayawada highway which was quoted at over 50 lakhs not so long ago is now going abegging for 8-9 lakhs. Even at this rate there are hardly any buyers.
With the rising interest rates and uncertainty over Telangana, it appears that people are now ready to wait for some time before taking a decision. All this is squeezing the real estate agents and builders out of business.
2008/3/28 15:24:12 The long awaited Urban Land Ceiling Act (ULCA) has finally been repealed. The act was repealed after a motion moved by revenue minister Dharmana Prasada Rao was passed in the assembly. The World Bank had been insisting the state government to repeal the act as a pre-condition for clearing a loan to the state government.
With this, there will now be no restriction or ceiling on buying land in cities. The builders will benefit in a big way with this move. More lands will also now come out of litigation. Land prices are expected to ease in places in and around Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati etc.
Observers feel that land prices will now come down to realistic levels and many middle class a well as poor people can now afford to buy plots. The prices of land in big cities in particular are likely to fall to realistic levels.
