Dhanush who recorded an impressive success with Thiruvilayadal Aarambam continued his streak into Polladhavan too. He has just finished Yaaradi Nee Mohini and has singed on the dotted line for yet another Vetrimaran directed flick after Polladhavan.
Besides the actor is also committed for a film produced by Vijaya productions of Thamirabarani fame. Since Thiruvilayadal Aarambam was inspired from Sivaji Ganesanís Thiruvilayadal and Polladhavan from Rajinikanthís film of the same name and the films have proved successful at the box office, the crew is scouting for a suitable title of yesteryear film where Sivaji and Rajinikanth had featured together. In all likelihood Viduthalai or Padikkadhavan may be considered.
This new project of Dhanush will be directed by Suraj who made people sit up and take notice with his Marudhamalai and Thalainagaram. Director Suraj had proved that his forte is comedy and a combination with Dhanush who in his own capacity had demonstrated that he can carry any comical sequence with consummate ease should work wonders. Good luck to the team.
Controversy has stalked superstar Kamal Hassan everytime he has embarked on a new venture.
The latest confronting him is the charge of plagiarism of the story line of his new film Dasavatharam, in which he is playing as many as ten roles.
However, when contacted, Kamal Hassan said he was least worried about the charge. ''I have better things to do. I don't want to speak on it'', the actor retorted.
In the latest controversy a person approached the police and lodged a complaint that the script of Kamal Hassan's Dasavatharam (meaning ten incarnations), is based on a story written by him and that he had given the script to the actor some time ago.
The man, who has warned of legal action against the actor, also claimed that Kamal accepted to consider the story for a possible film and make him the assistant director, if the project fructifies. But, he never heard anything from the actor.
However, jumping to Kamal's defence, a Tamil film industry source said, ''Such wild charges need to be ignored. Some person or the other has been doing it with an intention of drawing financial gains out of it.''
Kamal's present predicament is reminiscent of a similar charge, which a film of the thespian, late Sivaji Ganesan, Devamagan faced in 1969.
The film, which also entered for Oscars in
the foreign film category, survived a legal battle and turned out to be a box office hit.
Sivaji Ganesan's portrayal of father and two sons won great acclaim for the actor.
Kamal had first faced trouble over the title of his own directorial venture Virumandi, again over the title Vasool Raja MBBS, the remake of Munnabhai MBBS, and two years ago, a leading political party objected to the English title MumbaiXpress.

It is a major setback for Kalanidhi Maran owned Sun TV, which had grabbed all the earlier Rajnikanth TV rights. Sun TV, which had the best Tamil film library in the world will be hit badly by this development. Remember Sun TV got record TRP's telecasting Rajnikanth films like- Baasha, Padayappa, Baba regardless of the number of times. Sun TV too has the rights of Chandramukhi which is due for telecast in 2008.
Kalaignar TV will run as the mouth piece of DMK, though officially it will be run as a Raj TV enterprise. Kollywood, the traditional fence sitters have already switched their allegiance to Kalaignar TV.
Vikram has made up his mind. He will act in a Susi Ganesan film. Things have been finalized after a long period of yes, no and maybe. Part of the uncertainty is due to the delay of Bheemaa. There were also speculations that Vikram was considering a script by director Mysskin.
But as things stand now, Chiyaan will work for Susi Ganesan.
The movie has been titled Kandasaamy. Shriya will be seen opposite Vikram for the first time. The camera will be handled by Egambaram and Devi Sri Prasad (Sachein fame) will be scoring the music.
The title gives no clue as to what the movie is all about. It could be anything from an action flick to a comic caper. No one from the Kandasaamy camp is willing to reveal anything. Shooting starts on the 15th of February.
South Indian Super Star Rajanikanth, who visited Tirumala to seek the blessings of the Lord, says, 'There are many expectations on the film 'Sivaji' in my fans in particular and the audiences in general. We made the film to reach their expectations. I visited Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala before the launch of the 'Sivaji' shooting and I vowed to return to Tirumala after the completion of the shooting.
Now I came to Tirumala to fulfil my vow. A major part of the film was shot in the US. For the first time, I played hero in the direction of Shankar for 'Sivaji' and we are sure that the film would be a big hit.'
