The TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao is confident that a separate Telangana is going to be reality sooner than later. He was speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Sunday. KCR said that there are seven districts in Telangana at present.
But once a separate state is formed, then the state will have 17 districts. His logic is simple; the area has 17 parliamentary constituencies at present. Each of the parliamentary constituency will be converted into a district.
2011/11/2 17:01:36 Hyderabad, Nov 2 (INN): The launch of second phase of Rachabanda programme in seven districts has been postponed.
According to Principal Secretary (Planning) SP Tucker, the programme has been postponed as per the decision taken by the District-in-Charge ministers concerned. As per the new schedule, the Rachabanda-II will be launched on Nov 3 in Anantapur district, on Nov 4 in Warangal and Nizamabad, on Nov 5 in Khammam and Srikakulam and on Nov 8 in Hyderabad and Karimnagar districts.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has launched the programme at Jaggampet in East Godavari district on Wednesday. The programme has commenced in 16 districts including some districts of Telangana region. On day one, the programme was launched in 30 mandals and two wards in 16 districts in the State. (INN)
TRS president KCR often used to say that Telangana region is the most backward in the entire state and he blames Seemandhra leaders for it. Several times, he stated in the media that, except Hyderabad twin cities entire Telangana region is very backward and has no other sources of income because it was looted by Seemandhra leaders.
The same person, KCR today addressing the Electrical employees at Hyderabad has said that 73% of the total income generated in the state is from Telangana region only and the income of the 9 districts in the Telangana region is greater than the rest of the 13 districts in the state.
Did this mean that he and his family members are fooling their own people to drive them into agitations? When, the Telangana region is in financially in such a sound condition, then it is not Telangana but Seemandhra which need to agitate for separate state. But, unfortunately he drives his own people to such a point that, there is no chance to return.
2011/9/29 15:23:56 Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana on Thursday stated that his party would opposed to the proposal of including Kurnool and Anantapur districts in the yet to be formed Telangana state.
Talking to media persons at party office, the CPI leader alleged that he Centre came up with this proposal only to divert attention of people. He asked the Centre to explain the logic behind inclusion of Kurnool and Anantapur and exclusion of Kadapa and Chittoor from the proposed Telangana. He said the agitation path would be diverted if Kurnool and Anantapur districts are made of 'Rayala-Telangana'.
Narayana advised the Telangana leaders, particularly TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, not to fall victims to the tricks of Centre. He said that his party was against the proposal and would oppose it tooth and nail. (INN)
2008/5/3 14:20:00 The TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu is now on his 150-day yathra 'Mee Kosam'. Babu's ratham entered Telangana in the wee hours of Saturday. Babu was received by enthusiastic party workers when he reached Nagarjun Sagar bordering on Guntur and Nalgonda districts. Babu is now en-route to Mirayalguda.
Babu will have a tough time campaigning in Telangana as the sensitive 'separate Telangana' issue is likely to crop up at every place he goes now. He will have to be careful with his speeches in Telangana. It would be interesting to see how Babu will tackle this sensitive issue, now that he is in the midst of Telangana people.
2011/9/28 17:31:35 Claiming that the Centre was in favour of Telangana state, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao on Wednesday stated that the government was yet to take a decision on the State capital Hyderabad.
Addressing at Non-Teaching Nagara convention being held at Telangana Bhavan, K Chandrasekhar Rao made it clear that a separate Telangana state without Hyderabad as the capital would not be acceptable to people of Telangana. He warned the Centre and state government against any proposal to make Hyderabad a union territory.
‚ÄúTelangana state without Hyderabad will be a body without head. I am warning the prime minister and chief minister that any such proposal will have disastrous consequences,‚ÄĚ he said. Stating that Centre was finding other alternatives, KCR warned that Telangana without Hyderabad as state capital would lead to another agitation.
However, sources say that MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has conveyed a Centre's proposal to KCR on Wednesday of having a Telangana state by including Kurnool and Anantapur districts from the Rayalaseema region. KCR reportedly said that he was not opposed to merging of Kurnool and Anantapur districts in Telangana as it would not cause any irrigation problems.
The Centre was also considering giving Union Territory status to Hyderabad. However, KCR has reportedly rejected both the proposal. (INN)

2011/7/2 19:47:02 The unreliable rainfall, which played truant so far, has become a matter of worry for the state government as apprehensions over the Kharif crop increased.
The erratic nature of the rainfall can be gauged by the fact that in Krishna district, the rain was reported in excess while four other districts reported scanty rainfall, while the remaining 13 districts reported deficit rains.
ďThe June 1 to September 30, (122 days) rainfall this season turned out to be erratic,Ē said Disaster Management Commissioner T Radha in an exclusive interview with INN at the Secretariat on Saturday.
Mr Radha said that out of 122 days, 32 have days passed off, and the Bay of Bengal appears to be quiet so far, which is a cause of worry for the state.
ďUnless there is a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal, drought conditions may affect the region,Ē Mr Radha said.
In the past 122 days not even 2 MM rain has been recorded but the average rainfall by now is said to be 2.57 MM. The deficit so far recorded was said to be -38 MM.
In Hyderabad, Medak, Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts, there was scanty rainfall while in Krishna it is in excess and while in five districts, Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Nellore, Chittoor and Khammam, normal rains were reported. In the remaining 13 districts, the rainfall has been deficient so far.
In 2009, due to deficit rainfall, drought was announced on August 15, while in May 2010, due to the cyclone, heavy rains lashed the state. In contrast, in 2011 deficit was reported in May/June.
Kharif crop was sown in over 3.74 lakh hectares in 2010 and in 3.02 lakh hectares in 2011 in nine Coastal Andhra districts, by June ending, which is far less than the normal figure that is 24.41 lakh hectares.
In 2011, in Rayalaseema districts, 1.81 lakh hectares was sown by June ending and in 2010, 3.21 lakh hectares was sown by June ending, which was also reported to be below normal.
In Telangana districts in 2010, 10.24 lakh hectares was sown by June ending while in 2011, by June ending, only 7.37 lakh hectares was sown.
The Disaster Management Commissioner explained that in Kharif season, normally 78.11 lakh hectares should be sown but due to the abnormal conditions, the sowing area has come down in the years cited.(INN)
