'Vana Vana Velluvaye' remix song in Rachcha

    2011/11/7 3:47:20
People speak of technical advancement and high budget movies, but when it comes to songs something seems to be wrong. After the death of Veturi, barring Sitarama Sastry in streaks, there is no lyricist who beams confidence and picks the idiom in its desired mould.

No wonder even if the songs are drummed into the ears during the launch, content wise and music wise the life expectancy levels are decreasing.

The easy way out to bring out a song is defined as remix. Old songs and not-so-old songs are coming in droves with a change of beat. Sometimes it is sad that the original song loses its sheen, but that is the trend now.

Ram Charan’s Racha is now having a popular Chiranjeevi number Vana Vana Veluvaye from Gang Leader and is in progressing at Ramanaidu Studios. While the dad had Vijayashanti along his side, Tamannah will be giving company to son. . Sampath Nandi is directing the film and NV Prasad, Paras Jain are producing the film on Mega Super Good Films banner. Mani Sharma is composing music for the film.

It’s all in the family as Magadheera had a remix of Bangaru Kodipetta (Gharana Mogudu) while Akkineni Nagachaitanya’s 100 % Love had Na Kallu cheutunnayi (Premabhishekam). (INN)

'Slambu' is the title confirmed for Tamil while 'Murder Mystery 2007' is the title under consideration for the Hindi.' It may be mentioned here that the same banner is producing a film 'Andala Amitabh Bachchan' with Suman Shetty as hero.'

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan records 2 songs for new family drama

2006/10/27 14:34:29 Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan's fans will soon get to enjoy two songs that the superstar has recorded for an upcoming Hindi film, a newspaper said Friday.

Aadesh Shrivastava, who composed the music for the film "Babul," or "Father," said work on both songs was complete and the film's music would be released soon, the Asian Age newspaper reported.

Bachchan "doesn't sing for any other composer these days. But he'd never say no to me," Shrivastava was quoted as saying.

One of the songs is a hip-hop dance number while the other is a more melancholy song best suited to Bachchan's deep baritone voice, the newspaper said.

Hindi film stars rarely sing in their films. Bachchan, who has acted in nearly 160 films, has been an exception and has sung songs and recited poems in several movies. All of his songs were instant hits, contributing to the popularity of his films.

Bachchan, an unlikely looking hero, first caught the Indian public's eye in the early 1970s in movies such as "Anand," or "Joy," and "Abhimaan," or "Pride," in which he played soft romantic characters. However, he established himself as an actor in the early 1980s by taking on the mantle of the "angry young man" fighting evil and corruption in society.

Since then, he has moved to comedy films and blockbuster family dramas.

In 2005, Bachchan starred in three blockbuster movies "Black," "Bunty Aur (and) Bubli" and "Sarkar," or "Boss."

Remix culture 'doom' for Indian music: Peenaz

2006/8/5 17:36:42 Western influence and "remix" culture are taking Indian music to its "lowest ebb", noted ghazal singer Peenaz Masani said here today.

Expressing deep concern over "pollution" of Indian music, she said "remix culture with vulgar visualisation has brought the Indian music to bottom line".

Masani, who was here to attend the prize distribution function of a gazal competition, said TV channels must share the blame for this "fast deteroration" of Indian music.

She alleged TV Channels only cared for their vested interests and were not concerned over the legacy of great classical singers like Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and Mohammad Rafi.

"It was a shame that even during the talent-hunt contests being organised by TV channels the main stress was on looks, gestures and presentation and not on melody of music." She said music companies were also neglecting Indian music and promoting remix and resorting to marketing gimmicks which did not (not) augur well for the future.

Claiming that the future of gazals looked bleak, Masani said a congenial atmosphere had to be recreated to motivate the music lovers, especially the younger generation, to develop a love for Indian music and gazals.

    Bollywood continues to influence Pakistanis

    2008/2/10 14:11:10

Despite hostility between the two nations for over six decades, people in Pakistan continue to be influenced by Bollywood, as was evident from the views of a group of youngsters from that country who were on a visit to India recently.

It was a dream come true for the young Pakistanis when they landed in their most favourable destination in the world -- India, where their best-loved Bollywood movies are being shot and produced.

Bollywood films, songs and Hindi films stars are, the students said, more popular in Pakistan than anything else and people there like these things very much.

"We love Bollywood movies. I am really thrilled to be in India, especially the historic Delhi, where we visited forts, temples, mosque and churches. This country is really exciting and I felt like a dream coming true when I first landed here," Mehr Toor, an economics student at a university in Lahore, said.

"When I went to Humayun's Tomb here, I was quick to find that the place was featured in one of my most favourite Hindi movie Fanna. I remembered the whole sequence," Toor said.

She said she felt like being at "home" while in India and some Indian students with whom she interacted for two days were surprised when they first heard her singing Hindi songs.

D Rama Naidu enters Guinness book

    2008/1/5 14:55:09

Hyderabad-based filmmaker D Rama Naidu has made it to the 2008 Guinness Book of World Records for having produced movies in nine languages.

Besides Telugu, his mother tongue, Naidu has made films in all other south Indian languages - Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada - plus in Hindi, English, Bengali, Oriya and Assamese, all under his banner Suresh Productions.

Naidu prefers to make his movies with artistes and technicians from different parts of India, rather than 'dubbing' in different languages. He is not familiar with most of the languages in which he makes his movies. He believes that the language of the movie is universal.

Now Naidu has made a foray into the Marathi film industry with a new production, Majhi Aai. It is being directed by veteran Marathi filmmaker Kanchan Nayak, who last made a movie in Bhojpuri, Pinjre Ki Maina.

In the 1990s, Naidu produced Hindi films on a regular basis. Of late, however, he is not as prolific in Bollywood. His last Hindi release was Kuch Tum Kaho, Kuch Hum Kahein in 2002.

Besides making movies, the veteran producer is also an active politician affiliated to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He represented the TDP in the Lok Sabha between 1999 and 2004.

    B'wood call for Surendar Reddy

2011/10/17 8:31:53 It seems, Tollywood has to urgently search for new directors for its upcoming films as all the directors are fleeing away to Bollywood for remaking their Telugu movies into Hindi. So far, we have seen Ram Gopal Varma, Prabhudeva and Puri Jagannath directing Hindi movies. Sreenu Vytla, who delivered a successful film 'Dookudu,' got an offer from Salman Khan to remake it into Hindi. However, the deal is not yet finalized.

Now, another director Surendar Reddy, who gave a hit for Jr.NTR with his 'Oosaravelli' movie has been invited by the same hero Salman Khan to remake the Telugu film 'Kick' into Hindi. Mass Raja Ravi Teja and Ileana have played lead roles in this super hit move 'Kick' and it was also directed by Surendar Reddy. So, Salman Khan thinks that Surendar Reddy is the right person to handle this remake film.

Since, there was no official word about Dookudu remaking from Salman Khan, we can assume he remakes 'Kick' first and then Dookudu movie, if he bags the remake rights. Salman Khan becomes a remake-specilist in Bollywood who already tasted the success with his remakes 'Wanted' (Pokiri) and 'Dhee' (Dhee) movies. So, doing two more remakes subsequently is not a big task for him at all. It is learnt Salman Khan's sister is going to produce one of these films.

These girls can't even speak Hindi: Namrata

2011/10/27 9:53:03 Veteran actress and prince Mahesh Babu's wife Namrata Sirodkar opines that, the present heroines in the film industry are no matching to oldies like Sridevi, Madhuri Dixith and Kajol.

She said "These girls can't even speak fluently in Hindi. During our time, if a heroine can't speak Hindi, the director and producer used to send her for Hindi tuition before starting the shooting. But, these days they are inducted into films only because of their glamour and not because of their acting talents. Their work in the movies is also very casual and not upto the mark. However, I am still enjoying watching their Hindi movies. Now, and then some of them terrifies me like the ones in our Telugu movies."

Speaking about her family life Namrata said "My husband gives very much importance to two things. The first one is up-keeping our family reputation and the second is his film profession. He is very caring. He loves to play with our son Goutam. Some times, I have to intervene to stop him from granting everything that Goutam asks for. He loves me very much and always prefers to take my advice before taking any major decision. Our bond becomes stronger after my parents died."

"I know he has great fan following across the state and also know about the girls who are ready to die for him. But, we both consider it as a part of profession and won't take it seriously. Mahesh never like to show his stardom before us or anyone. He behaves like any simple man and in a quiet matured way. His approach towards others is very friendly and often people will surprise and praise him for his simplicity," said Namrata
